Wakefield Council is hosting a recruitment day for people interested in working with children and young people on Wednesday 30 September 2026. The event runs from 10:30am to 1:30pm at The Hut in Airedale.
The Children and Young People service is one of the largest departments within the council. It is rated good by Ofsted, with areas of outstanding practice.
Roles available
A range of positions will be advertised at the event, including:
- Residential Worker / Short Breaks Worker
- Casual Residential Worker
- Youth Worker
- Youth Engagement Worker
- Early Intervention & Prevention Practitioner
- Passenger Transport Assistant
- Casual Clerk (Governor Services)
What to expect on the day
Staff will be available to discuss what each role involves and answer questions from potential applicants. The team aims to reduce barriers for candidates considering an application.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to undertake a 'mini interview' on the day.
