Thousands of people lined the streets of Wakefield on Sunday 4 October to welcome Wakefield Trinity home as the new Super League Champions.

Wakefield Trinity secured a 23-10 victory over Warrington Wolves at the Super League Grand Final on 3 October. The team travelled through the city in an open-top bus, with the parade ending outside Wakefield Town Hall on Wood Street.

Civic Reception and Fan Event

At the Town Hall, the team was greeted by the Mayor of Wakefield and the Leader of Wakefield Council, Cllr Karl Johnson. Hundreds of fans gathered on Wood Street to celebrate.

Following the parade, the team attended a special fan event at WX. The venue released 700 free tickets on Saturday night, all of which were claimed within two hours. Players met fans, signed autographs and posed for photographs.

Council Statement

Cllr Karl Johnson said: "The 2026 Wakefield Trinity team now stands alongside the legends of our past. They created history this weekend not just for the club but also for our city. Our thanks again to Matt Ellis and the whole Ellis family for the investment and commitment they have given to the club since they took over in 2023. And to Daryl Powell who has led the club's climb from the Championship to Grand Final winners. To see our city come to life on Sunday to welcome the boys home was incredible. The streets were packed and I'd like to thank everyone who came out to celebrate with us."
