Wakefield Trinity will hold an open-top bus parade through the city centre on Saturday following the club's Super League Grand Final victory. Trinity beat Warrington Wolves 23-10 at Old Trafford in Manchester, securing their first title win since 1968.

The buses carrying players and staff will depart from the club's home ground at Belle Vue at 13:30 BST. They will arrive at Wakefield Town Hall at approximately 15:00, where a civic reception hosted by the council will take place.

Route and Road Closures

Wakefield Council has confirmed road closures will be in place along the parade route. The roads affected are Westgate, Marygate and Wood Street.

Visitors to the city centre are asked to avoid the parade route between 13:30 and 15:00 if possible and to plan extra time for journeys.

Fan Celebration at Wakefield Exchange

Following the civic reception at the town hall, a ticketed fan celebration will be held at WX on Union Street between 16:30 and 18:00 BST. The event will include player appearances, speeches and highlights from the Grand Final on big screens.

Entry requires a ticket. Tickets have already sold out and entry cannot be guaranteed without one.

Councillor Lukasz Borcz, Cabinet Member for Culture and Sport, said: "Wakefield couldn't be prouder. Huge credit goes to the players and coaching staff, as well as the ownership for their investment, ambition and commitment to rebuilding the team and taking the club forward."

Council leader Karl Johnson encouraged "everyone to come along and give the boys the welcome home they deserve".
