Mayor Cllr Brian Moorhouse and his consort Joan Moorhouse have completed a busy schedule of engagements throughout August, attending civic events across Wakefield and the surrounding region.
Yorkshire Day celebrations
On 1 August, the Mayor and his consort attended the 'A Taste of Yorkshire – Craft and Food Fair' in Ossett to mark Yorkshire Day. The Deputy Mayor Cllr Penny Ashton and her consort Cllr Steve Ashton attended the Civic Celebration hosted by Goole.
Cathedral welcoming lunch
On Tuesday 4 August, the Mayor and his consort, accompanied by the Deputy Mayor and her consort, attended an official welcoming lunch at Wakefield Cathedral. Dean Philip Hobday and Associate Priest Sam hosted the occasion.
Prince of Wales Family Fun Day
On Sunday 9 August, the Mayor and his consort and the Deputy Mayor and her consort attended the Prince of Wales Family Fun Day at Pontefract Park. The Mayor opened the event.
