Families looking for things to do across Wakefield district can use a new autumn and winter planner covering Saturday 24 October 2026 to Sunday 3 January 2027.
The Experience Wakefield guide brings together seasonal activities and days out, from Halloween and half-term ideas to Christmas events and winter outings.
What is in the guide?
Wakefield Council says the planner highlights family events, festive markets, exhibitions, performances, workshops and seasonal trails at venues across the district.
It is intended to help residents and visitors find activities at museums, libraries, galleries, heritage attractions and community spaces, rather than having to search each venue separately.
Councillor Lukasz Borcz, the council’s Cabinet Member for Culture and Sport, said the guide brings together events and activities to help people make the most of the months ahead and support local venues and businesses.
Read or download the planner
The official Autumn-Winter Planner page, linked in the Sources section below, provides an online edition and a downloadable PDF.
The council says printed copies are being made available through libraries, museums, family hubs and other public venues. Check with your local venue before making a special trip to collect one.
Check individual event arrangements
The planner is a starting point for choosing an outing. Check the organiser’s latest listing for opening times, admission charges, booking requirements and accessibility before travelling. Inclusion in the guide does not mean every activity is free or available as a drop-in.
The guide includes activities across the district, so check the location as well as the date when choosing an outing.
