Wakefield Council has opened the refreshed Green Lane play area in Cutsyke, Castleford, following a £98,000 investment. The play area features more than 32 pieces of equipment designed for children of all abilities.
What's at the play area
The site includes communication panels, seesaws and a roundabout. Children can use a range of swings, including a giant turtle shell swing. At the centre is the Helix play unit, which has two slides, climbing walls and a fireman's pole.
Inclusive equipment has been added to the site, with a springie and a wheelchair-accessible roundabout allowing more children to play together.
Facilities for families
New benches, a picnic table and a bin have been installed to give families places to rest during their visit.
What's next
Church Street park in Ossett is the next outdoor space scheduled to be improved as part of Wakefield Council's plans to upgrade parks across the district.
