An illuminated parade celebrating light, nature and creativity is coming to Wakefield city centre on Saturday 14 November, starting at 5.30pm at County Hall.

The parade, called 'Nature's Return', will celebrate the revival of wildlife in Wakefield's rivers, meadows, moors and gardens. Led by a towering Mother Nature figure, glowing creatures will emerge from the darkness as the parade travels through Wood Street, finishing on Brook Street. The parade will take around 30 minutes.

The best place to watch will be on Wood Street. Residents and visitors are encouraged to bring friends, wrap up warm and be part of the celebration.

Light Up Wakefield Festival

The parade is part of Light Up Wakefield, a two-day event running from Friday 13 to Saturday 14 November, 5pm–9pm in Wakefield city centre. A light trail featuring dazzling installations will run across both nights.

The Event Hub will be based at WX Wakefield Exchange, where visitors can pick up a free trail map.
