Wakefield Council's cabinet is set to approve £2.5m of additional investment for road improvements across the district.
Cabinet members will vote on the funding at a meeting on Tuesday 22 September at 5.30pm. The money will be used for highways maintenance and improvement work during the 2026/27 financial year.
Where the funding comes from
The investment is funded through the West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA) from the City Region Sustainable Transport Settlement (CRSTS) uplift.
What the council plans to deliver
The Cabinet Member for Highways, Transport and Planning said the council has listened to residents and business owners about road conditions. The funding will support more resurfacing work and improvements to road markings to make roads safer, as part of the council's Summer of Action campaign.
