Activ8 Wakefield, the district's Inclusive Sports Festival, takes place on Saturday 15 August 2026 at Thornes Park Stadium. The free event runs from 11am to 2pm and is open to people of all ages and abilities.
The festival features 'come and try' activities, live demonstrations, and meetings with local sports providers. All activities are designed to be accessible to people with physical disabilities, learning differences, and additional needs.
Who is running the event
The festival is delivered through a partnership between Disability Sport Yorkshire, Yorkshire Sport Foundation, and Wakefield Council. The organisations are working together to remove barriers to participation and promote the benefits of an active lifestyle for everyone in the district.
