Wakefield Council is asking residents to share their views on the future of housing across the district. A survey launched on Monday 28 September 2026 will help shape the Housing Plan for Wakefield District for the period 2027–2030.

The new plan will set out a vision for housing and identify what matters most to residents over the coming years. The council said it is important that the plan reflects the aspirations and vision that residents have for the district.

What the survey covers

Residents are invited to share their views on housing issues including affordable housing, housing that supports regeneration, and support for vulnerable residents.

Feedback from residents and partners will play an important role in shaping priorities, policies and investment decisions. The Housing Plan will help deliver a range of high-quality homes to support regeneration and economic growth, including affordable homes that meet the needs of people at every stage of their lives.
