Free fitness equipment has been installed at the open space on Gorton Street in Kinsley, giving residents a new way to exercise outdoors.

The equipment is available for all residents to use at no cost. Three fitness stations provide a range of activities designed to help people improve strength, muscle tone and flexibility.

What equipment is available

The stations include a sit-up bench and pull-up bar. There is also a flex unit with a leg raise, a tone unit featuring a stepper, and a shape unit with a push-up bar.

The range of options means residents can stretch, strengthen or do cardiovascular exercise depending on their needs.

Location and purpose

Located opposite the rugby field, Gorton Street was identified as an ideal spot for the equipment. The installation aims to provide more opportunities for exercise and training for the local rugby club, while encouraging the wider community to get active in their own area.

The open space also makes it convenient for residents to combine exercise with time outdoors, whether stopping by for a quick workout or including the equipment as part of a walk around the area.
